The Planned Itinerary
Friday-
arrive
afternoon/early evening. Time to
settle in, perhaps a stroll round the village before feasting on a superb 3
course evening meal with complimentary beers and quality wines.
The oak table in the farmhouse can accommodate up to 14 and is a very
convivial and social place to spend an evening putting the world to rights and
thinking about the day to come. Saturday
will start with a healthy hearty breakfast.
The days walking will be an approximate 12 mile trek of varying terrain
(shorter walk also available) with a well earned picnic lunch!
Reg will kindly provide hot drinks and energy snacks (Karen's homemade
flapjack) at regular intervals! Afternoon
tea of home made cakes will be served when tired legs arrive back at the
farmhouse. Then chance to relax
in front of the log fire maybe with a glass of wine before the 4 course
evening meal is served. Sunday Wake to the smell of sizzling bacon- the legs need the protein for
recovery after yesterdays walk. Today’s
walk will be a little less in distance taking in places of local and historic
interest. The lunch stop will allow a
sampling of the local brew!. We have the
accommodation booked until early Monday morning so guests are welcome to leave
as late as they wish on Sunday or maybe even stay until Monday morning- the
choice is yours. The
Local Area
We have chosen this area for it spectacular beauty and
walking opportunities. Straight from the farmhouse gate are a wealth of
circular walks. Springtime in Littondale is particularly beautiful with
orchids, Bird’s Eye primrose, Saxifrage and countless other botanical
delights. The dale is also bird lover’s paradise with wagtails, dippers,
kingfishers and other river birds contrasting with the splendor of the
resident Peregrines and other birds of prey. Accommodation

The house is situated on the Green in the peaceful and beautiful village of Arncliffe, with its pretty church and traditional pub. To the rear of the property you will discover Cowside Beck as it tumbles over limestone, through a natural swimming pool and on to meet the River Skirfare, a tributary of the Wharfe.Cost per person fully inclusive £175.00
