We leave Ravenscar onto Robin Hoods Bay along the coastal railway path allowing great views of the North Yorkshire Coast. The off road cycle path delivers us almost to the bustling port of Whitby where we then start to head west across the spectacular North Yorkshire Moors. The up hill and down dale cycling characterises this part of the route which also includes some more off road sections. Our overnight accommodation is situated on the edge of the National Park at Gt Broughton.

The morning's cycling is easy going on pleasant undulating country roads to Barnard Castle. in County Durham. This thriving market town boasts a striking Norman castle which is spectaculalry set on a high rock above the River Tees.
