One We leave Ravenscar onto Robin Hoods Bay along the coastal railway path allowing great views of the North Yorkshire Coast. The off road cycle path delivers us almost to the bustling port of Whitby where we then start to head west across the spectacular North Yorkshire Moors. The up hill and down dale cycling characterises this part of the route which also includes some more off road sections. Our overnight accommodation is situated on the edge of the National Park at Gt Broughton. Day
Two The morning's cycling is easy going on pleasant undulating country roads to Barnard Castle. in County Durham. This thriving market town boasts a striking Norman castle which is spectaculalry set on a high rock above the River Tees. We then cycle south into Swaledale and through the pretty villages of Gunnerside, Muker and Thwaite, where we have our overnight accommodation at the renowned Keartons Country Hotel. Day Three 36 miles We are now in Herriott country. We follow down to the river Swale passing through the traditional daloes villages of Muker and Gunnerside. An off road bridle path takes us high above the river onto the famous "Corpes's" trail leading all the way to Grinton.The cycling then is superb as we pass through upper and lower Wensleydale to our finish destination at the Black Sheep Brewery! You have earned a pint!
